Emmecosta Shares Velour EP

From boutique label ICEA, Emmecosta shared their new Velour EP on August 25th. Praised by the likes of Stereogum and Clash, the Swedish group has blended cool, dream-pop sounds with “post-club tropical indie soul,” a description that is hard to not get on board with.

According to the band, “Velour is the feeling of unshakable longing for a place we’ve never been. This is a specific form of wanderlust – a craving for a distant land or a deep feeling of ‘homesickness’ for a place we have never seen. We imagine distant places through small fragments: everyday life seen elsewhere. We are going through a strange sensation of disorientation, something magical seen from far away. We fall in love with this fragment. It holds the promise for more. We move around it.”

To gain a sense of the musical story, Emmecosta’s visuals for “Miguel” and “His Power of Youth” were shot in their native Positano. The videos capture the Scandinavian forests and compliment the dreamy sounds in an ideal way. Have a listen below and stay tuned for more from the group.
